Scotia is concave (curved inward) and looks more refined. Quadrant is a simple quarter-circle. We default to scotia on engineered and solid wood fits.

Can I avoid scotia entirely?

Yes — by removing skirting, fitting the floor flush, then re-fitting skirting on top. It's a cleaner finish but adds 1–2 days to the install.

Standard scotia size?

We stock 18×18mm and 22×22mm in 2.4m lengths. 22mm covers most modern expansion gaps; 18mm is our discreet option for period skirting.
