REAL WOOD
Engineered Walnut Flooring
American black walnut over a stable birch-ply core. Deeper, browner and warmer than any vinyl can replicate — the floor that genuinely lifts a Victorian or Edwardian reception room.
Real American walnut
3mm or 6mm walnut wear layer — refinishable once or twice over its life.
Stable for UFH
Cross-bonded birch-ply core resists cupping over underfloor heating where solid walnut won't.
Brushed matt-lacquered
Lifts the grain texture; hides micro-scuffs far better than oiled or gloss-lacquered walnut.

FAQs
- Will walnut darken or lighten over time?
- Walnut typically lightens slightly over the first 12–18 months as the wood photo-bleaches under UV. After that it stabilises. Avoid leaving rugs in the same position for the first year.
- Is walnut harder than oak?
- Slightly softer (Janka ~1010 vs oak ~1290). Both are easily durable for residential use — protect with felt pads on chair legs either way.
- Can walnut go in a kitchen?
- Yes, with two conditions: real wood plus an instant-leak protocol (wipe spills within minutes), or step down to our Deluxe Brushed Suede vinyl for the wet zones and continue walnut into the dining area.
- How does it look in a north-facing room?
- Reads warmer than oak under low light — walnut's red undertones lift dim rooms where greige or smoked oak can feel flat.
